One of the older (and darker) cultures of the DragonScape that I wrote earlier on are the Scraelings or the Scraelinger tribal culture.
Situated in the Yellowknife region of northern Canada in the region of the Far Yukon, they are a culture that has had to survive surrounded by multiple sivilao realms. To survive the constant pressure of these realms they have developed a strong warrior culture focused on destroying sivilao settlements mixed with some pretty dark terror tactics.
some of these lovely tactics include:
Scaling enemy dragons and throwing those scales over enemy walls
Barking and howling throughout the night in shifts, forcing defenders to stay awake while they rotate in shifts to keep their energy up
Painting their ears and displaying words on their shields like "The deaf, the Unhearing, etc." in Eldimraga (sivilao language) which is more of an insult to them religiously and in their adherence to Raddir and the ideology of Fim Eodin. To be deaf implies they don't care for the gods nor do they want to care, they are unabiding heretics that will not be reasoned with.
Tying captured dragons to trees by their tails, letting them just hang there...
And the Scrael call, (Scrah - yel) is an apology in eldimraga, and apart from being very canadian (good on ya canadians) it's also a very ironic threat that is not lost on either party. It's less of an apology in this case and more of a "Sorry for what you're about to go through"
So the Scraelings are rather terrifying, don't get on their bad side or else you will face a very painful, very unpleasant and prolonged experience.
