It's hard for me to just use generic or blank characters for my YCH ads: the whole drawing and story comes from the personality of the characters involved. So I'll usually design characters for them, even though it's just a YCH. Often I'l re-use these characters and concepts in my own pieces later, so they're not always "wasted" (this is where Nightbreeze came from for example).

I created these two for the "Smuggler's Toy" YCH. Dustup is a thug that works "enforcement" for one of the smuggling gangs in my cyberpunk setting. Hotswap is "Hoverpunk"; think Jet Set Radio, but with hoverboards instead of skates. And a lot less idealistic/political. Hoverpunks are mostly spoiled brats that screw around, vandalize and break shit, and dip into some petty theft here and there. More of an annoyance than a threat, unless you're a clean, unvandalized wall.

No cutie marks yet, though I have some ideas.
