"The kanazuchibo, a long-haired priest with a beak-like mouth that wields a hammer, is suspected by many to be a yokai of cowardice based on proverbs involving hammers and being overly cautious. The okka, on the other hand, is theorized to be a frog spirit--its name comes from baby-talk for 'obake', the catch-all term for monsters and shapeshifters, and it's frequently the unwilling target of the kanazuchibo in several appearances. Though these two yokai are commonly depicted together, their relationship is unknown and their appearances together could very well be just a coincidence."
These two goofballs remind me a lot of Scratch and Grounder from the Sonic cartoon back in the day. The kanazuchibo, especially, reminds me of Scratch. Maybe it's just the leaner figure and beak-like mouth...?
