THANKS, GUYS!!!
Here is Calypso, the National Superheroine of Jamaica.
Character was created by my pal CD but he lets me use her in stories.
This is her bio:
Name: Gale Storm (a.k.a. Calypso)
Species: Canine (mixed breed)
Height: 6’ 3”
Weight: 110lbs
Age: over 200 (see History)
Occupation: Official National Heroine of Jamaica
Weapons: She carries none
Powers: Flight, she has power over the weather (wind, rain, lightning, ice) as well as super strength and regenerative abilities
Weaknesses: Being part vampire (see History) she has the same traditional weaknesses as vampires with the exception of sunlight and she does NOT crave blood
History: Gail grew up on Jamaica in the late Eighteenth Century. As a smallish teenager, the orphaned canine worked in a seaside tavern frequented by Caribbean pirates. One fateful day in 1792, a drunken crewman grabbed the helpless girl and dragged her away. Under a palm tree, the crazed bat from Transylvania forced himself upon her. Struggling with all her might, Gail could not escape his grasp and only succeeded in making him very angry. Enraged, the bat bit the young canine on the neck moments before her tavern co-workers were able to rescue her. After laying in a near coma for three days, Gail woke up to discover that her body was now larger and much more, mature in the right places. Unknown to her at the time, the bat who had bitten her was part vampire and had inadvertently infused her with incredible powers, natural abilities and immortality. Soon she was overcome and confused about her new body and powers. After accidentally causing a hurricane, Gail ran away from civilization, becoming a hermit living on the far side of the island nation. Locals created the “Legend of Calypso” around the story. She kept to herself for over century until one day in 1908 when while walking on the beach, she saw a British passenger ship strike a reef and begin to sink. Using her wind powers, Gail saved the ship and all the passengers from certain peril. Among the passengers on the ship that day was a mixed breed canine traveling from India named Rupee Punjab (who later became Super Genie). Rupee used her magic to find Gail and teach her how to master her powers and how to use them to help others. It was also Rupee who urged Gail to embrace the legend of Calypso and to return to ‘civilization.’ After taking a job in the island’s diplomatic corp, Gail worked hard and received a temporary assignment to the Jamaican Consulate in Atlantic City after World War II. Retiring from government service in 1964, Gail quietly continued her superhero work primarily in the Caribbean island nations. When the U.N. Superheroes Relations Act was passed in 2000, citing it’s ‘National Superheroine’ provision, Calypso became Jamaica’s National Superheroine in 2001, thus bypassing the need to ‘register.’
Personality: Bubbly and pleasant, Calypso has a very kind and caring nature. She also has a sense of humor and tries to politely share her centuries of wisdom with others.

Like I said on
Eggplantman's entry, this is a different design from how
orangy drew her.
Very nice, though. Doesn't scream "sea witch" but it does scream "national heroine".

as i live in the Caribbean i approve of this heroine although with a name like Calypso i thought her powers would be music based maybe even singing powers. the Jamaican storm may also be a nice nick name for her . Egg did a grate job of getting the colors of the flag right on her outfit. now she needs a villain to go up against, maybe some called the Trinidad Terror
