Finally done with this little gem. I drew it originally over Spring Break while watching the special on the Padang/Kayan women and felt the burning need to draw something afterwards.
I love the neck elongation and just the general beauty of the women so much, and those gorgeous rings around their necks. My god. @ u @ So thus Tasanee was born! Her name is Thai for "Beautiful View" which she definitely has with such a long neck. Not to mention she is a beautiful view (in my opinion). I also decided to give her a cinched waist for god knows what reason. I thinks its because I started sketching Damodara before I sketched her, which put me in a tiny waist mood lol. Regardless, she looks good with a long neck and tiny waist. Its as if she's super exaggerated!
And if you're wondering about her bizarre skin, tail, and ears... she's a Chinese Crested Dog! 8D Because they're too cute and I've always wanted to make one for myself, so Tasanee was my candidate!
But enough of my blah blah, enjoy~

That's the part that got me hard!
I was amazed when I watched them put the first coil of them on a little girl. She looked so brave and so happy when she got them. ; u ; I wonder how heavy they are, I mean, they've got to have some weight to them to push the clavicle down like that.

I don't understand why a government thinks they could take someone's traditions and way of life away. Its horrid and they should be punched in the sac for it. Of course, if that is what's going on. XD;;; Don't want to get my panties in a twist over rumors and hear-say~ *slaps own hands* Bad Souls~
Thank you!
These rings in particular aren't African, they're Thai (well, the people originated in Myanmar). 8D There are a people in Thailand called the Kayan, and the women wear these gorgeous rings around their necks! Check it out - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kayan_%28Burma%29
Its a mighty good read and if you can find documentaries its even more awesome!
