What i did here, was i basically recolored the usual red bars and of course, the red maple leaf.

first off, the 2 bars are supposed to represent the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. But on the usual flag, both bars are red, so i just recolored them to blue to represent the color of the seas.

second, the maple leaf is red, but the thing is, a red maple leaf represents a dying maple leaf. So, i repainted it green, because green represents life and to give the appearance that canada is a thriving nation.

Also, the blue color on those bars are not just a regular blue tint, but the same tint of the flag of Quebec. another reason why i chose that shade is to give the impression that the Anglophone and Francophone cultures exist in harmony. since red and white was supposed to represent england. so it's probably safe to say that i have just removed both references of France and Britain, so as to give a sense of individual identity. (less foreign, more Canadian)

despite the fact that there are now 3 colors instead of 2, the flag can still be distinguised or seen from any distance and any from. unlike the other proposed designs from 1965.
