As a young pup Nathan's father taught him how to fight.

As a nine foot tall husky Nathan didn't need to learn about proper stances or even how to throw a good punch, although his father had taught him that for good measure. After all there where very few people in the world that go toe to tow with a lumber beast like Nathan. Hell, a tank like him could probably fight a brick wall and win. What Nathan really needed to learn was restraint. After all it could be a very fine line between a well deserved ass beating and murder charges when a Fur like Nathan went up against very squishy and fragile humans. Dad had taught Nathan tactics in deescalation, how to be aware of his surroundings, and above all else how to be very deliberate in his actions. These lessons had served Nathan very well, for it seemed like at least once a year some drunk guy wanted to prove his manliness by fighting a giant hybrid like Nathan.

Now that he's a father Nathan needs to teach that same lesson to his children, in fact he needed to teach that lesson a little sooner than he expected when it turned out Riely had inherited her father's strength and athletic ability with her mother's fiery temperament.
