Another random creature design, one that strongly resembles the Ridgebacks, but in a more "feral" form.
I imagine it behaves similar to a wolf or wild/feral dog and would be a somewhat common sight in the forests and plains, slightly less so in the deserts and hills though. The desert subspecies would be smaller and have thinner, lighter-colored hair to better cope with the heat.
They could be useful if domesticated, and they might make for good guard and companion animals as well as assisting in hunting, much like a dog. However, they are pack hunter/scavengers, and wouldn't hesitate to attack a lone tribesman out in the wild.
