A week has passed since the ice spirits blessed Tio with their
gift; no longer feeling the bitterness that once kept him shivering
as he trained to be the new master of the frost monks. However,
with no one left in the dojo except him, he was forced to break
tradition and leave the Vail of Frost; his now forsaken home. With
a heavy sigh, the blue tiger travels back to his village one last
time. It was a modest settlement. Although half-hidden by a thick
blanket of white upon the scattered huts, memories begin to
flood his mind as he begins to wander the snowcovered paths.
Kids his age play in the snow, warm stews boiling in a pot, and
powerful monks that lined the entrances; he was going to be
one of them. He and his best friend, Kopa...
"Kopa." Without thinking, he stops in front of the hut he stayed in
with his lupine friend. Kopa and his family took in the orphaned
tiger with tears in his eyes. But it was the young wolf that always
tried to get him to smile; showing him how to have fun again.
"Even then you promised to always be with me." Closing his eyes,
he takes a moment of silence.
...
..
.
Watch out!
His eyes snap open and he turns to see a large shadowy spirit
right next to him smash its arm against... a thick wall of ice?
"I didn't make that." he thought to himself. Shaking his head, he
quickly jumps out of the way from another attack that caused
snow and debris to fly in the air. The hut was no more. His fur
stands on ends at the sight, anger seethes within him; the dark
spirit could feel his rage. Instead of chasing, it aims at another
nearby hut, obliterating it with ease.
"Stop!" in a blur, Tio wields his saber and quickly closes the
distance, slashing the shadowy figure. It doesn't flinch.
"W-What?" A paw collides with him and Tio is sent flying, crashing
against another empty hut. This dark spirit is stronger than any of
the others he's faced before.
They feed off negative energy. Still yourself.
"Right." Getting up from the wreckage, he takes a deep breath. "I
need to calm down." Closing his eyes, he begins to concentrate,
sensing the aura around him and channeling his spiritual energy.
A brief moment later, the symbol of the ice spirits on his back
begins to emit a soft glow. The hulking shadow now realizing
what Tio is doing begins to charge once more with a piercing roar,
waves of snow erupting beneath it with each step. He waits patiently
for the right moment before creating a slick bridge curved up and
over him. The dark spirit couldn't stop itself and slid on the icicle
path, soaring out of the village. Without missing a beat, he gives
chase to purify the spirit; slashing the air with his saber that radiates
his spiritual energy, manifesting into a volley of icicle shards to pin
the beast down to a tree it slammed against with a powerful thud.
Snow buries the dark spirit, further trapping it in place.
With a sigh of relief, the blue tiger approaches the spirit. Placing a
paw on its head and begins to channel his spiritual energy into it.
A pale blue light coats its body, starting from the head down. Once
fully purified, the spirit returns up into the dancing lights in the sky,
giving thanks before vanishing in a dazzle of lights. A smile forms
on his muzzle as he waves the spirit goodbye.
"I did it Kopa... I protected the village."
Oh my god, just look at that handsome tiger! Thank you so much to Spefides for this amazing illustration! It came out beautifully<3

You know, I was just mindlessly refreshing the front page of Furaffinity and I saw them post that they were accepting commissions at the time. Lucky me~!
