This is the third of my Pride pics for 2020. This time, it's Lupe the Wolf, a character the old SatAM Sonic cartoon and later the Archie comics, where she truly got to shine. She was a badass warrior who led the Wolf Pack, a group of freedom fighters who were allies of Sonic's, and she later went on to lead an entire nation. I hadn't decided whether or not to include her in my Sonic fan comic, Eon's World until fairly recently, but it's a decision I'm glad I made.

I've also headcanon'd Lupe as transgender, which is why she's here among my Pride pics representing the trans community, because we need more trans characters in fiction. I just get a big trans vibe from her and I ran with it. By the time we meet Lupe in Eon's World, she's already post-transition, so this isn't a case of me flipping the official gender of Sonic character, like I've done with Tails (whom I've also headcanon'd as a trans woman); I've just changed her backstory a bit, like I've done with basically all the characters from the Archie comics I've brought into Eon's World.

But aside from being a trans woman, Lupe in Eon's World is very similar to the character from official sources, although probably leaning more heavily towards the post-reboot version than the pre-reboot version. Her design is much more based on her post-reboot look, after all, although I've also taken some cues from Whisper the Wolf, from the current IDW comics, whose design is based on a wolf avatar character from Sonic Forces. In any case, in Eon's World, Lupe is a Wolf Pack ranger, who protects her people and their territory in the Thunder Plains region from various dangers. She's a hunter, a tracker, and a warrior -- a fierce enemy, but you couldn't ask for a more loyal ally.
