The dragon spun around summoning his bow and arrow ready to fire but paused. Gabriel was holding a villager as a human shield, a knife to their neck whilst the last few of his crew held their weapons.

"One move and I'll do it," Gabriel hissed. The two of them stared at each other waiting for the other to back down. Gabriel had lost most of his men to this bastard dragon. No way was he letting him get away. The dragon flinched making Gabriel grip tighter to his shield. Gabriel refused to budge. He was going to win. The dragon kept his aim holding it for eons until he finally lowered his bow.

Gabriel grinned. "Smart choice. Put them over there". The dragon did as he was told and tossed his bow and arrow to the side. "Your other weapons too" The dragon hesitated and then did the same with his other weapons.

"Down on your knees and hands behind your head" Gabriel demanded. The dragon slowly did so but kept eye contact with him. Gabriel inched his way over keeping his shield tight to him.

Then something hard whacked Gabriel in the shins causing him to trip up and lose grasp of his shield. At first he was at a loss at what tripped him up and then he saw it. The dragon's tail.

Everything went into slow motion as he saw the dragon grab the women and quickly throw her towards the other villagers. His remaining crew charged at the dragon but it was futile.

Now Gabriel had lost it. His crew, his money and his pride were now in ruins. He would let this dragon rue this day. Even if it meant his life
