XfangheartX inspired by the story "A Lamb in A Wolf's Den" which although is not yet finished, tells the story of Dawn's early childhood where she once had a predator friend named Lupe, a wolf child. What happened between them is still a mystery, but we find that Dawn's mother Mary is prejudice toward predators for a reason we find out in Chapter 4, as if stuck in a job run by a predator boss who is the mother of Leodore Lionheart who is not kind with prey civilians herself. This type of abuse has allowed Mary to see the face of her boss on every predator she sees, even Dawn's friend where it might have caused a strained relationship with her daughter. At this rate, Dawn may not like the attitude of her mother, but part of her still wishes that she could let her mother know how much she loves her and not always be so focused on other things every day of every hour. Sure she may still have the love of her dad who doesn't have the same prejudice toward predators like Mary does. But that doesn't mean he too does not wish for his wife's attention. One day at school, Dawn may be trying to find a way to create something special for her mother to let her know she loves her, even when she's barely showing it. What could Mary be doing now? Working late hours and avoiding her family unintentionally because of her boss making it more difficult and stressful? Or has Mary decided to create an idea to gather prey civilians to march out in protest against the mistreatment from predator employees at her office? Who knows?
Having seen the latest episodes of the third season to Tangled, the lyrics to "Waiting in the Wings reprise" really started to remind me more about Dawn's situation as the other song did.
Just by now I outta know my place
Do your humble duty with a smile on your face
Mother knows how much I love her
But she's always doing other things
So I'll keep waiting in the wings
I craved so much, and yet I kept on waiting
One glance, one touch, and I just kept on waiting
And when it came, it came with strings
So I kept waiting in the wings
I don't own the song.
