Since today is Father's Day, I just felt like drawing a certain rat dad many of you out there might remember...
In case you don't recognize him, it's Master Splinter from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This is actually my personal take on the rat dad (i.e., his kimono is blue), while taking a few liberties from his other designs (like the light-brown fur from the 2007 movie). I tried to make him old enough in a few areas, so sorry if you think he looks a tad too young.
Also something I rarely do is the addition of backgrounds. I added a cherry blossom at the top of this pic, and here we have Splinter being at peace after training his boys; the cherry-blossom just compliments that serene vibe.
I hope you enjoy my take on rat dad sensei.
(Well, isn't this ironic? I drew Mrs. Brisby, a mouse, on Mother's Day, and I just drew a rat, Splinter, on Father's Day. Ain't that weird?)
