I think I resolved the issue with the layer size being tied to resolution causing problems with merging, but I think in the next 20 sculpts I need to start learning Blender for making the final product instead of just using the Medium photo capture.

Also, those eyes did NOT translate to 3d well, so while they're a bit bulgey I'm still satisfied with how they came out. Painting in the black lines and reflection worked.
