True story:
I pointed out to somebody a bird. "See that black bird with the red spots on its wings?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you know what kind of bird it is?"
"No?"
"It's a red-winged blackbird."
"Yeah, but what's it called?"
"That's what it's called. A red-winged blackbird."
"No, seriously, what's it called?"
...
