Awis are smaller spirits in Midair (story I'm working on) and are most associated with the sun deity. They are messengers and often teach people skills or try to resolve small conflicts among spirits and people. They are never fully in the shape of a human because their magic is not strong enough to influence their body and the world around them like some stronger and older spirits do. But they do have another more birdish shape that I'll show you soon. The partly human shape is always that of a prepubescent child and they are mostly gender-neutral. I can Imagine them squabbling like a flock of little sparrows most of the time but in a loving way. They will be inspired by smaller birds and this lil one here is inspired by swallows.

Because traveling is reserved for people with a lot of social standing, mostly 'adventurers', most people never travel far from their motherland and awis are the ones that keep contact between different places. They also keep a sort of common language alive.

I love winged creatures so I knew from the very beginning I want several in my story. So besides this that I wanted to make something between angels and harpies there will be four stronger spirits that will be more like angels/winged humans and also the design of the sun deity himself that will be derived from feathered raptors with a mix of feather serpents and Chinese dragons in it.
