A tribute to one of the most formidable and successful car mark created by Jean Rédélé in 1955 - and that died for economical reasons in 1995 (though latest rumors say that Renault president - Alpine was sold to Renault in 1973 - wants to resurrect it).
Alpine was a 100% french car, the very first in the world which frame was entirely glued and not screwed, it won many european rallyes throughout its carreer, leading it to be the top champion for years.
I love Alpines much more than ANY other car in the world, and it still got an incredible popularity throughout Europa, like in Germany for example, although this country is well known for its own state-of-the-art cars...

Well, the original is far more "quiet", but when you look at it, you feel the power within - The best comparison would be with a Pontiac Firebird (yes, the one on which is based K2000) : externally, it looks sport, but not as much as a Ferrari, and can be used as a city car also. Yet, you feel that car got something inside.
Alpine. Just type this in Google, and you'll see the results (if you want to narrow the search, add for example one of the following terms, corresponding to some of the different versions : Berlinette, A110, A310, A610)... Of course, what I drew here is a re-interpretation of the original design of an A610, you'll NEVER see that anywhere !!!!
XD XD

On the contrary, glue is the solution of tomorrow. Instead of having screws that can pop out due to vibrations or break, meaning there are only a few points of contact between the two surfaces you want to join, gluing them allows the ENTIRE contact surface to be joined, allowing better constraints repartition - plus, now, laboratories have created many different glues that litterally melt the surfaces, whatever material (plastic, glass, metal), this means it's just like the two elements you want to join were litterally a single element !!!! Plus, no more aero/hydrodynamic problems and noise due to the little hollows around the bolts/screws, the surface is perfectly smooth. :)
Ooooh yeah, believe me, they were... Even the round "berlinettes" of the middle-sixties still make an enormous impression when you saw one, contrary to most cars of that time -and further- that look soooo old-fashioned...
The one I drew is based on an A610, but although the shape is recognizable, mine is a "muscled" and aggressive re-interpretation of the car. Baaaaad tuning LOL

610? i thought they stopped at the 310...
well, personally i must say that this is among the most ugly body kits i've ever seen, right behind the contraptions Gemballa tuning sees fit to offer for Porsche cars. but still, the overall form looks right, which is quite a task itself.
i never were one for spoilers and aero kits and stuff, i prefer my old Ford's the was they left the factory.
