An old vehicle design I'd done up 8 years ago, but redone to be a lot less...ROUGH. Removed a gunners seat on the back in order to make this a one seat gunship, plus removed a god awful giant gun on the dorsal section of the vehicle.
Now we've got a more functional, if not smaller, design that definitely conveys the idea of a very fast gunship/escort craft for both atmo and void operations.
Imperial Grand Army Model E-7 Silverfish:
Made in 2802AD by the Halzin Corporation, the E-7 Silverfish is meant as a cheap and effective weapons platform for the Galactic Imperium of the Ark. The Silverfish utilizes its powerful engines and composite armor to slip in through enemy lines at high speeds, mimicking its Terran namesake. Silverfish gunships are often seen either as escorts for larger transports during assaults, or as a close air support unit in conjunction with Grand Army troopers. Their grav-lift engines can keep them on station in tight urban environments for long periods of time, and it is quite common to see one or two attached to a strike team for the duration of the operation.
The standard E-7 is equipped with four Interal Model 32 Shredder Cannons (two on each dorsal wings), one IWD PP9 Plasma Cannon (mounted below the cockpit), and a bank of cluster missiles mounted on its spine. As well, multiple ports along its sides contain ECM and chaff/smoke charges to allow for the evasion of enemy fire.
