Critique baroncoon's "Homework"
If you like this, please go and fave the original over here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/36936352/
Wonderful art by Baroncoon of Twilight studying. I thought her head looked a little "out of round", but now I'm not so sure. Maybe her head was supposed to be tilted. Anyway, I asked Baroncoon if I could show the art here with my mods to illustrate what I was thinking.
Current text: Sorry if I'm wrong about this. After I messed with it I looked back at the original and it doesn't look that "strange" to me, but since I went this far I may as well show you want I was thinking.
Thanks for considering my input.

Hi, I really like your drawing of Twilight over here as she's doing her homework: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/36936352/
I left a couple of comments.
I don't know if you welcome critiques or not. Please read no further if you don't want any and please know that I enjoy your art.
Her body is just wonderful, but there was something about the shape of her head that looked odd to me. I don't profess to be an expert artist at all, but it appeared as if her head shape was "skewed". I stared at it for several minutes before I figured out what it was that looked "off" to me. I modified it in Photoshop to see if I could "fix" what I thought was off and I have done so. If you would like I can post it in my scraps to show you what I was thinking.
Thanks for sharing your art with us!

This looks like pencil art, unless I'm mistaken and it's a brush/pencil tool in digital, and I'd assume it was scanned or photographed. Its possible the scanner or camera had something on it that caused the distortion? Perhaps the paper got munched and folded in the area and didn't sit square on the surface? Or perhaps it was just wonky as drawn XD
Either way it was, the fix did just that XD

Hi Dombrus, long time no optic. eh? I hope you've been doing alright. There. I hung a "watch" on you so I can see what you're up to.
Thanks for that input. It was farily subtle and I'd talked myself into thinking it just looked odd because of the angle she was holding her head, or something.
I think you're right about that. That would make sense because the "corrections" I did are literally what I wrote on the image. Normally that would not have "fixed" her eyes and mouth and everything else would not have lined up if it were that way because the artist just made the skull asymmetrical.
I knew it looked odd, because the rest of the drawing is in proportion and makes "sense", but I couldn't quite figure it out at first. I sat staring at it for a couple of minutes doing the ole try to mentally draw a circle in the skull and then the right angle ellipses for the eyes and muzzle, and it just didn't work. I then flipped it upside down and that really didn't make it show up, but when I flipped it horizontally, it made it "pop" as to how "not right" it was.
The artist's other work is much more symmetrical, so that's why it made this look so "strange" to me.
Her right hand looks too wide too, but I already felt kind of odd pushing her head on the artist considering how great the rest of his/her work is. I can't draw hands to save my life. I can get away with paws, but real hands. *sigh*
Thanks.

Yea, I've been doing allrightish, kinda just existing for the most part lately...
The artists 'intuition'? I guess caught it? The sensation, feeling, that something is off about a particular thing. There are more than a few things I've drawn like that XD. Seems to be just an anomaly with this one.
Hands... are hard to do, I completely agree!
