I prefer certain kinds, but not specific ones. I'll make due if I have to. The urge to draw when nervous is stronger than pen loyalty.

I refuse to use any pencil except for my trusty Pentel Sharp P205

Besides the occasionally lost spare for blue lead, I've only gone through 2 of them in the past 10 years.

And if you like a pencil with a bit more heft, these are awesome: http://www.dickblick.com/products/p.....r-1000-pencil/ I have the .3mm and while it's great for really fine tight dark pencil lines. Though once you get to that point, you may as well be using a pen X3

That's the brand I was thinking of. When I was a kid they made a version out of translucent blue that had the clicker on the side where your finger would go. They don't make them anymore, but I have one working pencil left of that exact kind. I was talking to a guy I know about it one day and he was like "is it like this?" And produced a green version of the same pencil with his company logo on it. He said that they got them as promo material and he saved a box of them because he liked them best too. So he gave me a couple of them. I think they are the best mechanical pencil of all, even if they have a seed company logo on the side. XD

i think its a comfort thing cuz i do the same, i have to use my pencil and i dont like to lend my drawing pencil out

Lending out drawing pencils to regular people is crazy. It's like giving a savage access to your computer.

They simply don't appreciate nice things. This is why I only ever loan out my .9mm anymore.

i'm exactly like this. i hate using pencils that aren't mine.

It's like trying to wear gloves that are slightly too small.

I left my pencil in San Francisco once I'm not sure I could survive going through that again.

It was probably found by an antiques dealer and is living the good life even now.

I sometimes forget my mechanical pencil in places, and I'm just not the same without it, I can't do anything until I get it back.
