Another addition to the platoon, Mavuto Van Aarden, a Brown Hyena.
This was actually my first time drawing a brown hyena. When it comes to hyenas in anthro art, I see tons of spotted hyenas, a handful of striped hyenas, but the brown hyena seems very underrepresented.
Meet private Mavuto Van Aarden. 23, brown hyena, quiet outcast that never quite fit in growing up, proficient marksman who doesn't mind the solitude of sniping. He wound up being assigned to a platoon of dogs because there were no other hyenas to put him with and the higher-ups thought "close enough". As a result, he still feels out of place, even among such a close-knit group.
