Lead is both very dense and quite inexpensive (a lot of it is recycled). This lends itself to one of its few uses that hasn't been displaced by a safer material: weights in heavy machinery like lifts and cranes. Here Pinkie Pie is herself a balloon, rather than being lifted by a one as in joycall's helium picture.
