Sheytha was glad the day was cool, the crowds would have been insufferably close together if the sun had chosen to be punishing today. At the moment the tauren woman was on her own, and she took the time to simply watch the people go by.
“Ooh, ooh, here they come.” A nearby large elephant chattered excitedly, pointing toward the bend. His short fennec partner bounced on his heels to see, only for the elephant to lean down and scoop him upwards, raising him to see. They were at the back of the crowds, and Sheytha was happy to see that most of the larger creatures attending the parade had opted to stay at the rear-most rows to let the shorter species view the parade in full.
The only exception that Sheytha saw was one gorilla woman who was sitting on the ground at the front, with her own friends clustered around her, and she was hardly blocking views like that.
She turned her eyes to the bend, seeing a fresh wave of garishly dressed folks flanked by standard bearers. Their waving poles sported the blue pink and white striped flag. She didn’t mean to eavesdrop on the chattering pair, so she was grateful when the crowd started up a louder cheer, and she joined in with her own deep voice. Sheytha understood that the elephant and fennec were friends with the marchers as several of them made a point of waving and making heart-shapes with their hands to the pair in the audience.
Someone made their presence known with a soft touch to Sheytha’s shoulder, and she turned to see her two lovers. “Hey you two.” She said, accepting a bottled drink that the charr woman, Severa, held up for her.
“Nice space you picked out, Shey!” Theo, the lynx male said. He was the shortest of the trio, Severa was a good deal taller than the average person, though her bulky frame made her seem even bigger, but Sheytha was the tallest, towering over Theo.
She smirked down. “If it’s too far back, I can lift you up to see.” She quipped, nodding toward the elephant-fennec pair.
“Oh come on, I’m not that short!” Theo huffed in mock offense. He was easily able to see through the crowds without either of them doting on him.
“Hells, if I fit in your arms I’d take that offer.” Severa said, jabbing Sheytha in the side with an elbow.
“I’ll give you a bridal carry when we’re home to make it up to you.” She said with a soft chuckle herself. They quietened for a moment, turning their attention back to the pride parade. They didn’t know anyone in it themselves, but that wasn’t going to stop them taking part in the event. After all, they needed cause to lift their spirits of late.
The three stayed until the whole of the parade had walked by, commenting between themselves on some of the outfits they saw. Sheytha in particular teasing them both by making them think how she, or they would look in certain pieces. “Oh stop it, you!” Theo said, giving Sheytha a friendly shove when she pointed to a fellow in provocative chaps.
“She has a point.” Severa mused.
“Remind me… who was going to cook for you two ladies tonight?” He said, trying to guilt them into dropping the topic. It didn’t work.
“Aww, if the little baby man’s going to be a baby, maybe he does need a high seat!” Sheytha teased lowering her arm. Severa reached down at the same time, on the same wavelength as her, and the two women scooped their man up into the air.
“Can you see it from up there?” Severa asked with a grin. The pair ignored his squabbling tone as he crossed his arms and huffed, though from the thinly concealed grin it was obvious he was just playing along with it, after all, he was the kind of man who liked a girl who could deadlift him one handed.
Eventually there was no more to wait for, and they left when the crowds started to disperse, opting to head home rather than to an after-party, and the charr got the carry she had asked for.
