Sketch done for
teiganas who asked for his character sitting on the beach.
Now, I came up with what I thought would be an interesting pose, leaning back with his arms behind his head ... then I realized that that pose made it totally impossible to show the intricate tattoo on his shoulder! So I provided a little inset of him showing that off as well.
If I did a sketch for you at FWA -- I know there's a few more lurking out there -- I'd appreciate a scan if you can manage it! ^.^

At home, I usually draw on decent quality animation paper ... Chromacolour Prograde Plus, specifically.
At conventions, I either draw in whatever sketchbook someone gives me to draw in, or if they don't have a sketchbook, I keep a pad of 9x12" Strathmore smooth Bristol board so I can tear the sheet out and give it to them when the drawing is done.
Honestly I don't remember if this sketch was done on Bristol board or if he gave me a sketchbook to draw in ...

I'm not sure what the exact paper weight is but it feels like it's about 24 lb or so, reasonably heavy.
The surface is very smooth, just enough tooth to pick up pencil but not a lot of texture to show thru on a finished drawing or a scan.
The paper is very white and very consistent ... when you put a few sheets on a light table there's no texture or pulp pattern to diffuse or distract from the drawing you're tracing or cleaning up or working from. Also when you scan there's not a lot of texture or tooth on the paper that shows up and needs to be cleaned out of the image.
Umm ... and it's got standard animation pegholes punched into one side. :)

Sadly, the company specializes in selling to animation studios so they only sell in bulk.
Your best shot would be to look for some art supply stores at or near a college with an animation department; some of them might buy paper in bulk to resell in smaller quantity to students. What schools or what stores, tho, I have no idea.
