More cancellations. I am sorry for this one again, I had a very hard-working day yesterday: I had to cancel many things because one real person - our BIG family member - asked me to make a new logo for his brand new company. I have created a sketch logo many weeks ago but yesterday he called right in the damn early morning and said I NEED IT URGENTLY READY TILL TONIGHT! - Omg, ok, it's 500 for price (ukranian grivna) and it's yours. I'd do that, okaaaay.
And then he added he sends a courier to my place to take the files and to give me a payment. Sure I said.
As a result: I was f***ed with this Illustrator installing process very hard. And then I tried to recover HOW TO USE THIS NEW version of AI, Ifckndun remember a thing - so I spent damn 5-6 hrs instead of 1 to do this all intime (I also have some real life tho). And you know what?
HE HADN'T EVEN CALLED HE WOULD NOT COME.
So, sorry, guys, it's too much for me, I was so stressed and f***ed up by this that today I really need some calm and resting and peaceful atmosphere. That was too much for me. I miss you all, but I need more, I'm sorry for that.

I hate when things like that happen
They expect you to rush but don't consider the toll it cantake or how being unprepared to need to get it all done by a sudden time limit can cause the whole process to strain the person more

I also did logo designs for family and whatnot but I've been fucked up just like you so many times I don't accept any graphic design job anymore.
Once even I presented 4 versions of a typography logo to my boss, he took it to client who is his best friend too - they took my designs and decided to quit working with us (they said they are not sure if they want the logo in the end etc...) After one month of not speaking a word to us they went public with a logo design from other company which looked 1:1 like one of my projects, but with one little detail added. I drew all letters by hand so I was sure i got plagiarised :D
Next time they better pay you 500 usd for this!!

Hate this all, I accepted this 'job' like because they do some things for us.. and.. I have promised myself not ever accept 'family' work and to transfer it to ppl who do this. And I had been keeping this promise for 10+ years.. until this case, shoot. At least I promise to stay apart from it for the next 10 years more, lol xDDD

I am so sorry you had to go through this. I own a small business and I have a few graphic artists who work with me. Never would I ever put a rush project like this for tem. It's also double-hard because of family.
You shouldn't have to endure this because he lacks planning. If he is starting a business and this is how he is going to treat it, he's going to have a rough time. It's not your problem he is delayed. Need something urgent? Charge double. He doesn't like it, he can find someone else. I know that may not be feasible, but people take advantage of others all the time, and very rarely do they understand the time commitment involved, not to mention that you have been practicing your art for years to become this efficient.
What you do is a gift. If someone will not respect your time they are certainly not worthy of it.
I hope you get some time to relax and de-stress, and the weather is beautiful. :)
