Poisonous Tale Prelude Pt.13 - The Truth
Golbat POV
I’m striding in the woods.
I just want to see mama… But I don’t know where I should check exactly.
“Golbat--”
I heard a calling, and I flew there hastily.
“Oh, there you are.”
“…Auntie Sandslash?” I turned away, “…Why you’re here?”
She lied to me, I don’t know what else I can say…
“It seems you knew something.”
“Why would you lie to me, Auntie Sandslash?!” I cried out, “Can’t you see that I’m trusting you! W…why…”
She paused, and sighed.
“I didn’t want to lie to you either, your mother asked me to do.”
“…Where’s mama?” I sobbed and ask.
“…She had gone.”
…………..
“…What?”
“She passed away.”
“I… I don’t…”
“…I know it’s hard for you to accept this, but… this is truth, and I guess that’s why she asked me to lie to you two.”
“…Mama… asked you to… lie to me?”
She nodded, and start to telling about the things happened that night.

Sandslash memories
“Hey, kid, are you alright?”
He tremors weakly, and stop moving.
“Oh gosh.” I put my ear on his chest. He’s still breathing, heart is still beating.
I sighed, and I heard a weak cry… Sounds like a baby is crying.
I looked to where the sound comes.
“…?!” I ran there, “H-hey, miss, are you okay?”
“…H…hah…” she’s gasping, but didn’t reply.
But she slowly opened her wing, showing a tiny creature that was hid underneath her wing… The source of the cries.
I gasped, barely understood what happened.
“… It’s not safe here, miss, let me move you to somewhere else.”
……………….
I’m carrying her on my back, and her children inside my arms.
The tiny ones are still crying; the bigger ones are breathing weakly.
“…hey…”
“Ah, don’t worry, I’ll help you, we’re almost there, hang on.”
“…Tell Zubat… tell him I went home…”
“Huh?”
“…Take care…of them…”
“Hey, wait, miss!” her wing struggles to move… and it covered on the bigger child.
“…Thanks…”
“Hold on, miss, we’re almost there!” I walk faster.
…………………
“Alright! Be careful…”
I put her down outside of my den. Her eyes are closed.
“Miss…?” I shake her, she has no response.
“Oh no.”
I placed my ear on her chest, no pulses, no sounds, and no warmth…
“…”
I don’t know what to do now, I sat down and sighed.
“…Ah…” I should bring her children into the den first… they are trembling, should be catching cold…
After I settled them down, I came out and dug a hole.
I placed a flower on her body and buried her.
“… I’ll try my best, miss.”
