What on earth with that oil?? But the salt is actually reasonable! We can compare it to using chicken broth for cooking rice, which I feel is a common alternative.
Going with average proportions of 2c liquid to 1c dry rice, 1tsp kosher salt per cup of dry rice is less salty than chicken broth. The kosher salt is approximately 1120mg of sodium, while the broth would have approximately 1300mg of sodium. Seems reasonable for a flavorful rice!
The oil... I could see 1tbsp of butter for 1 cup dry rice, but I think it'd be more likely to see half that butter amount. Salt seems fine, oil though, ahahal.

Oil-In-Rice-Is-Important.
You have to sligthly heat it, then add some garlic (and other aromatics if you like) to it, then add the rice, and stir fry all together, then add your liquid.
I use anato oil to make my rice yellow.
And it's perfect every time.
