"The game is cat and mouse. You are the mouse. And I am, well at the moment, your worst nightmare- but for the sake of the this “game” I am the cat. You hide, and then…pray. Pray that I don’t find you.”
With a wicked laugh, Whisper watched as he dashed into the dense rainforest.
She was kind enough to give him a head start: one hour to be precise. Enough time for him to get ahead of her, find someplace to hide, and if he was smart, cover his tracks to make it difficult for her to find him.
She purposely gave him enough time to get ahead of her. She wanted him to make this game somewhat exciting. What fun would it be to just chase him down without a fight? While she was unfamiliar with this area, she had only trekked through her a few times, she still felt comfortable enough to hunt him down without getting in -too- much trouble- or so she hoped. She was not really planning on killing him. Scarring him for life, maybe, but not killing him. He was worth more to her alive than dead.
More excited than usual, Whisper climbed into a nearby tree and sat on one of its branches to rest and wait out her time. She figured she had enough time for a 15, 20 minute catnap. Using the overgrown fronds as shade from the sun, she curled up for a short nap.
He really hoped she would not find him or else…
He needed to sit down and rest for a moment as his knees were bothering him and he was covered in cuts, scrapes, and thorns. But he knew better; he had to keep moving. It was hot and humid, though the thick leaves from the trees hanging overhead did provide some relief from the sweltering heat. He was trying his best to plan out a course of action-
Not that he had much time left. He glanced at his cracked watch face and frowned. Apparently it broke when he tripped over that tree trunk protruding out of the ground a few yards back. But he had more important matters to tend to right now…like outwitting a kill happy lyolf.
She had captured him back in Laos while she was, ironically, after someone else wanted for the same crimes. He made the mistake of not disguising himself while out shopping and she recognized him immediately. Whisper started to kill him on the spot for his crimes! But for some reason she decided spare him- on the condition he came along peacefully and agreed to help her with some training. She assured him no harm would come to him “if he cooperated.” Part of him KNEW he should not have agreed and yet…
Here he was, in the middle of nowhere. No one knew where, nor did he have any way of contacting anyone as she confiscated his phone and other possessions. Leaving him with nothing but his clothes, and a burlap sack with a bottle of water, a day’s worth of rations, a machete, and a flare- the latter being in case he decided to give up.
A bird squawking in the distance roused him from his wandering thoughts of doom and despair. “Crap, it’s nearly time!” He had unintentionally rested longer than he planned. Sensing his time was nearly up, he broke into a sprint…
He knew he was screwed. At this point, it was only a matter of how long until she found him.
Ready or not, here I come~
(To be continued)
Whisper really enjoys torturing her victims. Yes, she could have easily just captured him or killed him on the spot. She usually does.
But sometimes she likes to make things more…interesting. Afterall, she is part feline.
For those wondering, “Why would Whisper let a criminal go, knowing he might escape or be difficult to capture again?” As I said, she enjoys the challenge.
Don’t worry, she always captures her prey. ALWAYS. For her, this experience is merely training or a game to her. The poor guy never had a chance…
Y’all this piece is more than a year old! Yes, I know, I am slow at posting art at times; do not judge me, haha. Good art is worth waiting on.

Far Cry! I said I was going that game one day (even though my Steam list of games I need to play is already a mile long with games I still need to play and try out, LOL). Hell yeah that is badass as it gets!
Well it can be implied she would kill him but to keep this piece/story general rated, I had to censor things a bit; you know how sensitive some people on here are -rolls eyes-
