well, I actually took the time to paint something, OMG. Have not come up with a name for this guy yet but hopefully something will come to me soon.
Very happy with the results, considering the two hours I spent ^^
(and the most uncreative title evor...)

Thank you Flit! I am using in this instance: watercolors, pen and ink + colored pencils over a pencil sketch. I used just some heavyweight Mead drawing paper off my sketchpad, I do not recommend this paper for painting; instead I prefer fairly smooth surfaced cold press watercolor paper( It is good for pretty much any medium, hell, I have used my airbrush on it once or twice.)
You can use watercolor on smooth Bristol paper, however when you add layers of the paint the brush tends to pick up and smear the previous layers more easily than is generally desired, this is not as much of a problem with vellum finish Bristol but still occurs none the less.
Oh, and if you ever want to use watercolor in tandem with colored pencils, it is a lot more difficult for the paint to adhere and dry if you put colored pencil down first(ignoring any pencil sketch of course, so long as its not thoroughly shaded). I generally use a lot of paint and a little pencil or a lot of pencil and a little paint.
Just my two cents, hope it helps!
