Nir, doing her job as told, such a valuable asset to her company, she is ;)
Whew, I managed to draw this before the June ends :)
this was kind of re-drawing of the old Nir pic I did in the last November: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/34949634/
And there is a background story for this one!
Make sure you read the story ;)
A city was in complete chaos.
Feral kaiju were causing mayhem like natural disasters. The sheer number overwhelmed any conventional military forces, rendering the human inhabitants powerless. Fleeing people and some accompanying vehicles were crushed beneath kaiju-sized feet or skyscrapers collapsing to the ground. Flames marked raging infernos as smoke rose to the sky. Sounds of civilians screaming, emergency sirens blaring, and structures being demolished with booming footsteps all intermingled to create an orchestra of destruction as the kaiju extended the symphony.
The only weapon that could stop this chaos observed the kaiju on the edge of the city…
More precisely, a woman named Nir. With a callous look of indifference, she watched kaiju as gigantic as herself gleefully going on various rampages throughout the city. She then looked down at a suspension bridge, which stretched nearly a mile over a waterway to connect the world to the city outskirts. She stood within the water itself, towering over the massive bridge, not to mention countless vehicles congested with heavy traffic as drivers shouted and honked their horns.
Flashing electronic signs repeated the following words on both of the bridge towers…
MACRO ATTACK IMMINENT EVACUATION ROUTE
↓ ↓
As for Nir, a communication device embedded into her skull flickered to life. She also placed one of her hands on a bridge tower. Afterward, Nir opened her draconic mouth to speak, revealing a serpentine tongue and razor-sharp fangs. Her simultaneously soft and booming voice, which was similar to a calm storm, echoed all around the area.
"Citizens, please clear yourselves for VVIP evacuation in three minutes and twelve seconds. Anyone who fails to comply will be removed.”
Her words did absolutely nothing to clear the ongoing traffic jam as time passed by.
"You now have roughly two minutes and fifty-seven seconds to vacate the bridge.” she continued. “Additionally, anyone who fails to comply will be forcefully removed from it. There will be no further warnings."
As a result of her words, the drivers went into a frenzy. Screaming intensified. Honking increased dramatically. Some people exited their vehicles to either flee on foot or to record Nir and the ongoing chaos with their smartphones. Nir simply ignored whatever they were doing while internally keeping track of the time flying by…
Eventually, she made an announcement. "You now have one minute to evacuate."
As before, whatever Nir said mostly failed to clear the bridge of any cars. Abandoned ones were only making the situation worse as vehicles slowly swerved around them. Consequently, bumper to bumper traffic increased tenfold, and so did the number of panicking people. It did little to faze Nir and her stoic demeanor as she simply observed with her ruby red eyes, up until she started counting down...
"Three… two… one. Your time is up."
From there, Nir stopped leaning on the bridge. She used a hand to casually sweep some vehicles aside, sending them toppling across the bridge, and others fell off the side of it before descending into an awaiting ocean. Onlookers caught in the midst of this screamed. Most people previously recording with their smartphones started running away and shouting. Still, this did nothing to stop Nir as she repeated this motion a few times, mostly clearing several bridge sections of any vehicles. The only exception was some larger ones. For those, she plucked them away with a few clawed fingers to casually toss them into the ocean, but her progress at clearing the bridge itself was still overall slow as some vehicles replaced the missing ones.
As a result, Nir snarled. Her hand descended upon the bridge more forcefully, where her blue and white digits were individually large enough to crush entire cars. Still, the bridge itself wasn't damaged. She use her hands to swipe vehicles and people alike, only stopped to flatten piles of damaged vehicles alongside people with an open palm, right before compacting them into balls of metal and gore that she could easily toss aside.
Soon, most of the bridge was clear… albeit a few civilians were still trying to drive across it, and some survivors were clinging to either rails or cables.
While Nir contemplated a potential solution to this problem, she felt the water around her legs moving. The one responsible was a yacht trying to pass under the bridge. Without further delay, Nir promptly picked up the ship, bringing it to her head to observe its tiny passengers freaking out or falling into the water below.
Nir then casually flipped the boat. People who were on board fell hundreds of meters to death. Not caring about them a bit, Nir lightly crushed the yacht in hand, ending up crushing any remaining survivors inside the boat. In the end, the ruptured yacht served as a perfect means of blocking the bridge, preventing more vehicles from entering once she placed the yacht in the way.
Afterward, Nir had some time to deal with any stragglers. She crushed any cars or people who approached the bridge too close using her fingers, just like killing bugs.
The improvised barrier was only removed once a convoy of military vehicles approached it. Tanks and APCs belonging to mercenaries and private security personnel protected a limo within the center. Alongside a stray helicopter lingering in the air, which had a logo matching the one on Nir's shoulders, they escorted the limo from one side of the bridge to another, albeit things were uneventful besides the convoy driving directly through whatever remained of the previous traffic jam.
Following this brief escort duty, a dull, heavy voice filled the air…
"Thank you for choosing Titan Industries." said Nir. "We consider the safety and satisfaction of our clients the highest priority. Hopefully, we'll be seeing each other more often in the future."
After saying this, Nir merely watched the limo and its accompanying convoy disappear from her view. Civilian vehicles began cautiously entering the bridge once more. The helicopter also hovered around Nir's head as her communication device glowed green again and a man in full-fledged body armor caught her attention.
"Our payment has finally been received." announced the man with a communication device. "You are now authorized to engage the feral kaiju attacking the city by any means you deem necessary!"
With that, the man slid a door to the helicopter closed.
"Affirmative." said Nir with a nod. She left the bridge behind with a swish of her tail. Although moving through knee-high water was a bit of a struggle, she strolled towards an unusually large kaiju resembling a horned canine, who had a disturbing smile on their face as they went about destroying the city...
Nonetheless, another job was complete.

NIR AFTER ACTION REPORT
Version involved: Nir-Mk1
Event: Feral Kaiju Horde Incident #114
Executive Summary: After overcoming local defenses, a horde of feral kaijus attacked a city. It was originally unable or unwilling to pay proper protection fees for Titan Industries to immediately intervene. Instead, Nir was deployed to evacuate VIPs, such as new or former clients, due to aerial evacuation methods becoming nearly impossible during the chaos. Civilians that did not follow Nir’s orders were harmed, causing some controversy within the media. Once the payment was finally received following a negotiation, Nir was able to single out and eliminate feral kaijus, but the city was mostly in ruins by the time what remained of the horde vacated the vicinity.

Sweeping seems like it'd do more damage to the road/bridge. I was thinking more pluck-and-scoop.
But then the question of whether the get dumped into the bay or say end up inside something. You know, like something obviously big enough to contain all that traffic overflow. >.>
I mean aside from the more obvious, conveniently located barge/transport ship. (that would obviously still be at high risk from the impending attack)
But say I take the in-universe logic approach and consider how PR backlash might impact their bottom line. Something like an 'emergency diversion transport unit' to collect the offending traffic and quickly divert it to the designated minimum-safe-distance would seem like a smarter idea. (and aside from PR, there's potential less-than-VVIP losses that would also impact their bottom line) Where the minimum safe distance might be relative to this scene would kinda depend what sort of Kaiju attack is incoming. (land, air, sea ... orbital descent)
And yeah, I'm mostly imagining a big, NIR-accessible mobile parking lot sort of thing, probably a massive floating dock style thing that could be moored near-by. (multi-level garage seems like it'd be too slow tedious to deal with)
Sort of like corporate sponsored superheroes ... gotta keep up the PR image and make for good branding and advertisement.
Sort of getting a mix of Tiger & Bunny and Neon Genesis Evangelion vibe here ... some of the scale of the latter too (well ... depending on the not-strictly defined size in the original series and vague, inconsistent scale of animation at times ... rule of cool and all). That goes for both the character design and worldbuilding I've gathered so far for this.
Presumably the gamut of classic Godzilla style monster flicks, plus Pacific Rim, obviously. ;3
Hmm ... also one of the side-plots (or episodes) of the 1999 Godzilla Animated Series come to think of it. (megacorp money + control-communications chip implant included) I almost forgot about that episode. (wonder if Hetzer remembers it :P )

Fuck! O.O I would jump off the bridge if necessary. Getting removed doesn't sound nice!
Wait... why does the VIP need a road to evacuate? Pick them up and take them somewhere safe, big girl! XD
My my, you have improved a lot in your drawings, Fox! It's crazy! ;3 No wonders your art is so popular now. Good job, my pal

High-value tech, prototypes, other high value resources not practical to air-lift on short notice? (I mean you could apply actual in-universe logic ... or throw out plot device excuses, either or)
I'd assume the high-value individual persons would mostly have private helpad access or such.

And she's on the human's side how? If I had to guess, the course of removal would kill most of them. At that point shes doing the macro who's attacking a favor.
But on the side of art I must say I do like your style. I've seen your posts here and there. And it seems to have improved as well

haha thanks XD
Technically she never was on humanity's other side... You must understand the universe and the lore takes place where megacorps rule the world and everything is whether considered as if it is profitable or not. So, if the client pays you to clear the road for them more than someone else who wants you to protect their city, you gotta set priorities :P
