From the Stonewall Riots, to five years ago when gay marriage was legalized across the United States, Pride has been an important part of the LGBTQ+ community. It's brought people together from all over the world to support a group of people in their fight for equal rights. With so many countries where it's still illegal to be gay, the fight is far from over.

I've tried not to bring this up yet to let the focus fall on another important movement; BLM, but yesterday marked 5 years since the Supreme Court ruled that it's unconstitutional to keep homosexuals from getting married. It felt like the perfect time to post this piece.

No one should ever have to be afraid to be who they are.
