Objective: Obtain the Flower of Union (Sir Gallade and Ji...
In the kingdom of Caluvencia, there was a longstanding tradition when it came to marriage proposals. Men would ask for their beloved's hand, while presenting to her a certain type of flower. This flower was rare and hard to come by, growing in a secluded forest that required trekking through high mountains and cliffs to reach. The prince of Caluvencia, a man stronger in heart than in body, had been planning on proposing to the woman of his dreams. He wanted to ask her on the night of an annual ball, but he feared he couldn't obtain the flower in time. For this reason, he called in the assistance of a knight.
Sir Gallade.
To serve those in need when called upon, that is the duty of a knight. Sir Gallade was more than willing to help the desperate prince. But the prince had informed the knight that the flower could not be picked by just anyone. A short rhyme, commonly known throughout the kingdom, showed Sir Gallade that he could not do this alone. That is why, rather than greeting his old friend Jill with a kiss to the hand, Gallade was bowing on his hands and knees, pleading for her help.
For when he read that rhyme, she was the first to come to his mind. A quest practically made for her. Only she could help Gallade, and by extension the young prince.
Jill has been a friend of mine for many a year now, and I was surprised that we never ended up getting any art together. So I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to do so. It was a delight as always to discuss the idea of this art piece with her, and the story behind it.
