You merely adopted the technology. They were born with it, molded by it.
Though, not all old fogeys are inept. After all, babies aren't the ones to design the stuff. It's just that most people don't have the drive to spend the time to understand tech at such a deep level. They have other interests instead, and learn to understand those.
