As soon she trapped him, she blinded him and held him as lifestock to brew potions from his feathers and horns. The Mis loved to show her prey off to the customers.
Many years he was held captive, getting his feathers plucked, horns sawed off, taken his blood for
experiments and profit.
But Zero learned all about this by listening. He learned about his species, his heritage, the healing powers he has, how it can be used and not to forget why he was blindfolded because of of the glare of the cockatrice.
And the most important thing - patience and how to endure pain.
