Ironically... that is one of my first works in which I deliberately censor the nudity.
The reason for that is because I wanted to avoid having to set this post as “Mature Content”, and reach more people other than my usual audience.
That said, I guess I should probably explain better what this is all about...
We live in a world where, from the very beginning of our life, we are taught that we are supposed to cover and hide our bodies. As we grow, we are taught that the human body is offensive, weird, ugly, disgusting, something to laugh at, or a mere object of “carnal” gratification. And to complement that, every single time nudity is mentioned or used in conversations, in the internet or in any media content, it is in a way that reinforces these negative perspectives.
The world forgot that, before any of that, our body is just... well... our body!It is the “recipient” of our existence in this world. What allow us to be here, in contact with everything that exists. Why would that be supposed to be offensive, or seen in so many offensive ways? Why would humanity be ashamed of that?If anything, we should be grateful for our bodies, and accept that they are part of who we are!Besides, that makes no sense at all to simply feel so many negative emotions towards the natural state of existence of anything.
Literally every single know life form in the planet lives without clothes, and none of them have problems with that. And suddenly, the species that considers itself to be the “superior species” dares to say that, if we didn’t use clothes, we wouldn’t be able to control our instincts and live properly as a society.
That not only makes no actual sense, but also is effectively wrong, as so many completely functional nudist and naturist societies can prove.
Some could argue that we need clothes, to protect ourselves from the climate and from the world. But that is not what I am talking about, and that is also not all of the reasons why people use clothes. If that was true, when
the climate was good, when people were at their homes, or maybe swimming, no one would see anything wrong with getting nude, or with seeing someone else doing so.
The reason why people have these negative impression is because, as mentioned before, every time nudity appears to us, it has one of those negative connotations. That is why our subconscious mind always associates the nudity to them.
However, once people gets used to seeing nudity in a more casual, normal and/or natural contexts and settings, those perceptions starts to fade away, and it starts to be more clear the distinction of when the nudity is nothing but the natural state of the body, or when it indeed means something else.
In fact, the contact with a more casual nudity in our life have several positive effects for us.
The world we live in, that teaches us to hide our body, and at the same time glorifies the image of “the perfect body”, causes several damages to the self-esteem of the individual, who will always try to reach this idealistic idea of perfection, and never be happy or satisfied with who they are.At the same time, it creates a society where people constantly judge each other by their appearance, by what they look like, and what they wear.
On the other hand, people who grow having more freedom to be nude, and have more contact with nudity, lives with a higher self-esteem, self-acceptance and confidence. They also grow happier, once being nude is more comfortable, we are capable of feeling better the world around us and spending time nude is scientifically proved to induce happiness in the individual... and also have several positive effects for one’s skin! The contact with other people nude also helps us to break that perception of the perfect body. We learn to understand that everyone have flaws, and that is ok.We learn to accept each other the way we are, and for who we are, and not be so judgmental. And for some reason, social nudity also induces our subcontinent to be more honest and open about our feelings, to ourselves and to the others, what helps people to have closer, more open and more honest relationships.
Finally...There is the perception of identity for us nudists and naturists. It is a way of self expression. The same way people uses what represents their feelings and personality, and feels like an extension of who they are, and not being able to use these types of clothes can cause low self-esteem to many people, depression or even the constant thought that there is something wrong with them, or the feeling of being caged...Some people just feels like that “clothe” that represents them is, well, their own skin. And simply forbidding these people to express themselves is unfair.
Also, the same way any community likes to see anything that they feel like represents them in media content, getting this boost of personal identity, we nudists also have that feeling when we see nudity being depicted as something natural in media or any other kind of content. So it is also pretty unfair to try to ban every kind if content depicting nudity, no matter the context or intend of it.
That is the purpose of this petition.Have a world where people go beyond all of the taboos surrounding nudity, and be able to see it as what it is: as something normal; as something natural; as something that is, basically,
just who we are!

All very well said! It is illogical, irrational, and IMO just plain stupid that nearly all of human society would reject and be offended by the sight of the body of their own species, or fear with the deepest shame and embarrassment that the form of one's own body should be perceived by the eyes and mind of another. It's something I've pondered for 30 years and I have yet to think of any sensible reason why. Either we're taught such backwards values from the youngest ages, or adults treat child nudity as cute and innocent until some arbitrary age, and then it's suddenly treated as something horrible. The way I was raised to fear nudity developed into a phobia so terrified of being seen naked that I wouldn't get undressed in the bathroom until I'd covered up or overturned every magazine and newspaper with a picture of someone's face on it, because I was afraid of being seen by the photographs. I was similarly terrified to see others naked, which had a stark mental clash with my natural curiosity to see others naked. That mentality about nudity had me seriously messed up as a kid.
Thankfully I started to experiment with nudity when I was about 14. I admit it was due to natural teenage horniness pursuing something that I automatically equated to sex, but the unexpected benefit was that the more I pushed myself to explore nudity, the more I shed the fears and realized how natural and comfortable it was. When I finally overcame all of those fears (long story), it was the most liberating experience of my life. It was like lifting up a ton of bricks that were crushing me with needless fear.
Nobody should have to go through life with such terrible phobias like that, phobias about something as natural and beautiful as being alive: their own body and the bodies of others. Through the years I've enjoyed naturism everywhere I could, whether in the woods, at the beach, doing yard work, flying a plane (yes, I few naked many times), or living life in the house either alone or with roommates. It's incredibly liberating and freeing to go nude with no fear, shame, or embarrassment, and everybody should have the ability to do the same if they so choose. It should be a free choice whether or not to wear clothes.
As you correctly pointed out, society and the media almost invariably equate nudity to sex or some kind of negativity. The body (or specifically, the parts of the body that are tied to nudity) is treated as something criminal, all due to anyone saying, "ew, I don't like that". In many European countries nudity is treated with much more acceptance. Nudity can be found in parks, on beaches, and on TV. There's even a town in France where nudity is legal everywhere. And yet, the society of those European countries don't crumble. It would require some level of accepted nudity, such as a section at all beaches to start, for society to get more exposure to nonsexual nudity, as well as having a chance to actually go give it a try, for people to start realizing that all the phobias and negative associations are entirely misplaced. People already can to a certain extent with the few naturist resorts, and even fewer nude beaches, around the country. Times I've been to naturist resorts were some of the best 1-day vacations of my life.
Anyway, I could write volumes about all this, and my post has gotten long enough as it is. Yay, naturism!

Agree completyely! ^^
And yeah... some parts here are quite relatable, specially the traumas related to how terribly society depicts nudity, while we having that curiosity about it.
I remember that everyone and everything around me would always point nudity as the most horrible and degenerate thing in the world, but the fact that I always perceived nudity as something normal, and always liked and wanted to have the freedom to be nude, that led me to, by connection, feel like I has the most degenerate and horrible person in the world, and that everyone would despise me if they know how I actually felt... which ultimately led me to have major depression during... like... at least 13 years of my life... only overcoming it when I finally got the courage to tell my family I am a naturist at the age of 21.
Also... yeah...
If society started to slowly open up more to nudity, and give it some space in some spacific places, that certainly would help a lot! ^^
For example... bathing suits!
In my opinion every place where people are allowed to use bathing suits, there should be allowed to be nude! (Like... beaches, pools areas and so on... )
I mean... there is no piece of cloth more useless than that thing! The simple concept of that is ridiculous! ^^;
Like... it is pretty much a real world censorship bar and, if anything, they bring more sexualized attention to the body than no clothing at all!
And... of course... our own backyard.
The fact that, if someone in a building two blocks away can see we enjoying our freedon in our own backyard, they feel themselves in the right to call the police is just unfair! ;-;
And... it seems like you've been through a lot of amazing nude experiences there! XD
Hope I can do some of these someday in the future! XD

I've really never been able to talk with my family about my naturism. The few times I tried it was met with hostility and ridicule, so I stopped trying. We never speak of it and it's basically treated like I never said anything about it. At my old place I had a driveway sign notifying visitors that clothing was optional and nudity may be encountered. My brother drove past the thing two or three times, and yet never once asked me about it.
A long time ago (~2000 or so) in a radio interview I heard with the head of the Federation of Canadian Naturists, he said something very similar to what you said about swimsuits, particularly bikinis. He pointed out that as they get smaller and tighter, they draw more attention to the body parts they are theoretically supposed to hide.
As far as finding your own nude experiences, it's really a matter of looking for the opportunities to enjoy naturism, and being very alert and aware of your surroundings when you find a place. Of course, if you're somewhat near a naturist resort, that helps too.

I am really sorry about that... :/
And... actually now I do have somewhere to have some naturist experiences since I got in touch with the Naturist Federation of my country and, even though there is no club, resort or beach where I could go whenever I want, the group still hosts meetings each two months, and I've been going in these! ^^
But yeah! ^^
I still keep looking for new and different experiences! ^^
