Amongst the Tribes of the Snake River Basin there are the River Priests, who are the religious representatives of their denclans within any given tribe. Usually there is only one per den for around 3-5 priests per tribe.
They believe that the prepulse god was an illusion, and the true god (known as Falmrit) had broken free from her bonds and righted a wronged world. Now they live on the new world for a new age, guided through the lessons of Falmrit.
Snake river drekir believe in the ideals of Stoicism, Tenacity, and discipline. Falmrit was trapped for thousands of years and kept her head, so they should earn her respect by doing the same. This is best seen in the daily prayer of the river priests of any of these tribal villages, known as the "river walk".
The River Walk involves a priest sitting in the cold waters of the snake river to pray while holding up two heavy stone disks. Cold is generally a feeling that cold blooded drekir can't easily tolerate and the weight on their weak arms can easily exhaust them, by tolerating both the heavy weights and the cold water they believe that they can get falmrits attention and hopefully see their prayers fulfilled. It is also common for snake river priests to carry themselves with a stonelike stoicism as well as to practice abstinence as other ways of earning the respect of falmrit.

Hey no way! I grew up in Mountain Home and currently live (vaguely don't wanna dox myself) in the Boise area so that's cool!
I spent a lot of time at Twin Falls and the College of Southern Idaho and thats where these drekir are more or less based, it's such a beautiful part of the world and the Perrine Gorge is such a lovely place. Though the various drekir villages of the Snake River culture have settled all up and down it, basically all throughout the Magic Valley along the river
