Introducing Taartok, a member of a forest-dwelling Rauna tribe and the eldest son of its chieftain. He is next in line to inherit his father's title, but so far the young male wants none of it. He would much rather be sneaking his way onto cargo airships bound for exotic lands than puttering around the village all day, tending to tribemembers' disputes and organizing hunting parties. Because of this, he is rarely found at home with his family, and more often located getting into playful, well-meaning trouble in far-off places.
A LONG overdue commission for
anbessa. He wanted me to design my own character from a species of his creation, and so I did. I had a lot of fun with this boy, though because I drew the lineart so long ago (back when I threw my 100-watcher celebration) I can definitely see some ways I could have improved. Oh, well. Coloring him was a learning process too, and I had a lot of fun with his hair. But stripes continue to be the bane of my artistic existence! *Shakes fist at*
Anyhow. This is Taartok in his skivvies, obviously. When clothed, he wears period-appropriate attire that I have concept art of, but failed to finish to my satisfaction. Hence the crappy text block on the picture itself; that's where clothed-Taartok was, but I erased him out of shame. :P I may do a fully-clothed version in the future.
Colored in openCanvas to the music of Dethklok. :P

definitely worth the wait. ^^ I like his appearance, and the background you gave him,, the strong frame and long legs are as accurate as the hoof-paws. it also adds another nice facet to a world I should definitely develop, finally. nice mucsle-tone, and his main colour could fit into a light rain-forest where the sunlight illuminates everything neon green shining through the canopy. ^^
I'd like to see what clothes you come up with, even if I'd have to pay you to do it. XD
also, I LOVE his occupation!

I'm so glad you like him. :D He was fun to make. And I could show you the [terrible] rough draft I had of his clothes, but then I'd have to kill you. <.< >.>
(In all seriousness, if you wanted I could direct you to the uncolored lineart version of this picture that has a draft of his outfit on it.)

he, interesting. but the gear looks more suitable for an airship soldier than a forest dweller; they have not much in common with city-dwelling technology-believers. :) makes one wonder where he snatched up that getup, and it might have caused a lot of friction between him and his family. :)
interesting details. the arm guard would need more working-out, though, to be practical, but nothing too off the mark here. :)
thank you! ^^
