Did a lot of experimenting with the move tool. I think the top hair came out badly because I pulled it out and then tried painting it, when I should have painted the layers on the bare head and pulled those out. The hair on the sides looks much better, but again I'm reaching the point where learning blender hair effects might not be optional.

Thank you. I really need to bite the bullet and learn blender. Medium is good for getting the 'general shape' but it's meant to be brought into a 'real' program to do the fine details. For example I can almost never color match properly in this program, because the lighting throws it off.
