Yeah all pokemon in the game can interact with you. The first pokemon in your team will always follow you and can also interact with the environment in a way.

for example behind the text box there are 3 breakable rocks. the first one is a trap that will start a battle. If you talk to your pokemon it'll say that it's suspicious of the trap.

Are you serious? They'll react to areas like that? I thought it was just like in Pokemon Yellow...

Yush. However in these games I THINK only human shape pokemon can hug. For some pokes they nibble your feet. I know that because someone was walking with his Wailord and..it nibbled at his feet >v>

Look, Nintendo is a company. Companies only care about making money. If enough people leave feed back requesting Pokemon to still follow you, Nintendo will reach the conclusion that if that Feature stays, they will move more games, and therefore more money.
