2016 art, featuring Mick jamming out on his guitar in his basement.
I tried something a bit different with his head angle here, admittedly I don't try drawing things from different angles as often as I should...

True, I guess I was thinking about things a bit more realistically this time around, although Mick's guitar getting stolen or broken does seem like the sort of event that could lead to a variety of stories. Assuming this is just his hobby and nothing more, it could just be the turd cherry on top of a shit sundae of a day. If he's part of a band, chances are there would also be a very inconvenient looming deadline to find a replacement in time for a gig, and shenanigans would ensue because of course he and his bandmates would also not have enough money to simply purchase a replacement, so they'd have to scramble to come up with enough money to buy a new one somehow.
This has some potential. Don't forget the pre-order exclusive outfit for Mick, the Xbox exclusive guitar skin, the PlayStation exclusive bonus music tracks, the brand deals with all the major music streaming apps, the microtransactions and the DLC... We'll make it a battle royale looter shooter... wait, it's supposed to be a story-driven single-player game about a guitarist? Nobody would want to pay for--err, play that!
In all seriousness though, it seems like the sort of thing that if I wanted to get my hands on RPG Maker and have some custom sprite work done, might make for a halfway decent little amateur project to throw together in a weekend as well as a good way to visualize some of the locations Mick and friends would frequent. Assemble the band, battle other bands, make a little gimmick with all the attacks being music based like a D&D session where everybody is playing a bard (but far less horny) as Mick works his way from super-crappy loaner guitar (as his starting weapon) to having a collection of other guitarists' guitars (as a weapon progression of sorts) to finally getting his old crappy guitar back after defeating some band that should be successful enough to just purchase instruments instead of stealing them by the time they're a final boss. Unless the rival is the penultimate challenge and the real final boss is, like, an actual band with a recording deal and merch and their albums on iTunes and stuff.
Much like in everything else I pursue, what really held me back from ever doing much with RPG Maker was just not having any good ideas for stories to tell with it.

I could only imagine going to a record shop to kidnap someone, like the bassist from Gorillaz kidnapping the drummer from a place called Big Rick Black's Record Shack
