I went to open house of Naval Air facility Atsugi, with

We had fun and got sunburned.
We were wondering, are there any FA members in US military personnel stationed in Japan?

I dunno. I just worry sometimes that we're slowly descending into one bland, America-based culture. When I went to Canada, all the restaurants were owned by American conglomerates, and my European friends seem to go to the exact same chains that I can find in my own country. I was overjoyed when I moved to Wisconsin to get something other than what I got back in Alabama (there's a number of local chains up here due to very cheap farm food) but even then, my favorite places to eat are surrounded by Taco Bells and McDonalds.
I guess I'm paranoid, but I'm afraid that in the future, my choices will be "Do I want to eat at the McDonalds in the Walmart or the one by the Taco Bell?"

When we become all one corporate autocracy, I'm going to rebel by stealing used cooking oil out of the McDonalds dumpster.
About 5 years ago, when bottled water started to really become popular, Pepsi and Coke announced that they would begin a series of smear and marketing campaigns that would get tap water reduced to "showering and washing dishes." McDonalds supposedly stated that they intend to make it so that grocery stores "are visited rarely, if at all" through an aggressive series of campaigns and menu expansions.
I doubt either campaign will be successful, but the fact that they want to try is what worries me.
