This project had a lot of complications. First, since it was a college project, I had to make the animal do an action pose. Camels aren't that active creatures, except for the camel racing, so that was a challenge. Since this character is somewhat off the ground, it affected my armature. So, I had to do some sneaky tricks, like putting the front hoof near some grass to hide the wire. Definitely, making the armature is the hardest part, but covering it up with clay is much easier.

Wow, you're so nice. You definitely make me more confident about my work, so thank you. And yes, my professor was pleased: I got a 94% on it, and it didn't even have the sand when I submitted it. That's cool that you'd like to learn to sculpt characters, and I'd love to teach you. However, you can always get started by buying Sculpey Clay. It's available on Amazon and other art/hobby stores. Admittedly, it's expensive, but what you can do is crumple up a ball of tin foil to fill the center. I guess the only thing you couldn't do is make complex characters that require armature, but I'm sure you can do it, once you get the materials.
Yeah, I think you should go for it, even if digital is your main thing. It's cool to have physical figurines of your characters. Don't mind giving you some details.
I used:
-sculptor's knife
-aluminum loop tools (the smaller ones get the really detailed parts)
-wooden tools (to press the clay)
Some of these tools don't have official names, so I did my best to describe what they are.
