When a Happiny suddenly finds herself with ability to grow bigger every time she feels happy, things get out of hand quickly. Soon, entire cities are no more than toys for her amusement!
A commission done for the lovely
Sapgrove woods always had an air of mystery to it. Whenever a trainer ventured into those trees they would return hours later feeling strange and uneasy, like there was an energy about the place that made it feel otherworldly. The children in the nearby villages would tell stories about strange things that happened in the shadowy places deep inside the forest. Ghost pokemon would move through the shadows and stalk people who became lost. There were clearings where no trees seemed to grow, and no reason was ever given to why. There were spots where flowers bloomed in perfect circles.
It was a strange place for those who did not know the woods. For Happinessny, it was simply her home. The little pokemon hopped through the undergrowth with the same joy and playfully attitude that she had displayed throughout her entire life. She didn’t worry about becoming lost, since this was the place she had been born, where she had grown up, where she lived. She didn’t have any fear of other pokemon, since she knew that there was nothing in these woods that could do her much harm. The worst thing she had ever come across was a swarm of beedrill, and even they had flown off after a few warning poison jabs.
So, today, Happinessny skipped over the vines and the roots of trees without a concern. Her pink body caught the sunlight that managed to worm its way through the leaves overhead and made her look radiant. The small ribbons that she had tied around her head and body fluttered behind her faintly and wistfully. The little happiny truly felt at peace as she strode along.
But today was different. There were strange workings in that forest, and a power that no pokemon had ever seen before. Even as she skipped along without a thought or care, this power was seeping into her body, filling her, changing her cells so that they could accept a new form of existence.
And there was another creature in those woods that followed her. An invading pokemon that looked at the tiny bouncy pink girl moving along and smiled with a sinister grin. The smirk of a pokemon that knew how to cause mischief and horror. The smile of a gengar.
The gengar had not been in these woods long, but he had surely been enjoying his time. There were so many weak pokemon that he could bully, so many creatures that slept out in the open, their dreams ready to be feasted upon. He had even scared a young trainer that had wandered in from town so badly that the boy had wet his pants and ran off.
And now there was a tiny happiny for him to torment. This was almost going to be too easy.
Happinessny continued on her way, moving through one of the thin paths that crisscrossed the forest floor, the plants beat down by the light stomps of all the pokemon that moved through it. She didn’t see the shadow at her back, and probably wouldn’t have cared if she did. After all, why should she? Her life was so full of joy, she couldn’t even think of how that could be ruined.
In fact, the more she walked the more she smiled. The wind blew through the trees and felt nice against her skin. The sun overhead was warm, but the shade of the leaves was cooling. The air was fresh and her body felt alive. She was happy. So happy, in fact, that the small stone she carried in her pouch began to glow.
“Happiny?” the small pokemon said as she glanced down at the rock. She picked it up and looked at it, the radiant oval making her feel even better than before. Something about it was just so amazing, it was even better than when she first found it. These feelings of happiness bubbled inside her and grew, expanded and multiplied, until she felt her body start to change as well.
“H… happiny!?” She called out as she realized what was happening. Her body was growing, and it was doing so quickly. She had no idea why, all she knew was that it was something she had never experienced before, and it was amazing.
The gengar that had been stalking her looked up at the quickly growing pokemon, its mad grin falling into a perplexed glance, then a look of horror as the pink girl grew taller and taller. Soon her rounded body was pressing into the trees that were nearby. They were pushed out of the ground, their trunks bent as they were shoved away. Her feet expanded and pressed into the ground, sinking into it. Bird pokemon and bug pokemon alike flew away as she continued to grow bigger and bigger, until she finally towered over the forest that she had once lived in.
“Happiny!” she called out when it was done. Her smile was wide as she looked around at the now tiny world. This place that had once looked so huge to her now looked like a collection of toys, simple things for her to play with. And if there was one thing she loved to do, it was play. She smiled even wider as she lifted her foot up to take a step forward.
The gangar’s eyes moved to follow the huge foot as it lifted up from the destroyed ground, then hovered over his head. “G… G…” he mumbled, looking up at the monumental, dirty sole that loomed over his entire world. This little happiny that he had been stalking, that he was going to torment and make miserable, was now bigger than any pokemon he had ever seen.
And then she smashed her foot into the ground. The trees that were in her way cracked and splintered apart, providing almost no resistance to the gargantuan force of the tiny pokemon’s weight. The grass and the flowers that were below her sole were crushed in an instant, all flattened and destroyed. The few pokemon that had been in that first step, including that stalking gengar, were reduced to nothing in a single instant.
“Happiny!” the pokemon said, loving the tactile feeling of the crunch of her step. She skipped forward, the earth shaking as she landed again, even more plants and pokemon crushed with every movement. This was going to be more fun than she thought!
“Alright Voltorb!” the young trainer, Jace, said to his pokemon. There was a look in the boy’s eyes that sparkled as he gripped his fists tight. He was breathing hard, and his entire body was tense. “This is the moment we’ve been looking for, our chance to really prove ourselves!”
“Voltorb!” His pokemon answered, equally enthused about what was happening. Underneath, they both felt the earth vibrate. They knew that it was the footsteps of a giant pokemon moving closer to their little town. The very presence of it was impossible to ignore. But, while everyone else was packing their things and fleeing for safety, they had stayed behind to defend their home. After all, Jace had been training with his voltorb for years. They had almost all of the gym badges in the region, and could probably even hold their own with the champion if they ever made it to him.
And a threat like this was exactly what they needed to make their name known. “You remember the plan, right?”
“Voltorb!” the pokemon answered as it rotated its entire body in a nod.
“Alright, then let’s go!” Jace ran out of his house with his pokemon behind him. Immediately he was thrust into the chaos that was his hometown. There were people running all around him, most desperate to get out of the way of the playful pokemon stomping ever closer. Some were trying to maintain order in the town, while others were searching for something they had left behind. Above him, Jace could see the smokestacks of the town’s power station still churning, red warning lights flashing around the base. There were probably still workers in there trying to make sure the place was secure.
Jace grabbed his hat and turned the rim backward. If he was ever going to prove himself as a pokemon champion, this was it.
Happinessny skipped forward in the same manner as before, her big pink feet slamming down on all the tiny things unfortunate enough to be in her way. Rocks were crushed and broken, hills were flattened into nothing more than pits, rivers were completely diverted and pokemon ran out from every nook and cranny. She had left the forest behind her some time ago. Now she was in a more rocky area where there weren't as many interesting things.
But then she saw something close by. A spark of light nestled within the hills. “Happiny?” she hummed to herself as she altered her course. It only took a few more steps before she reached the small town. She stood at the edge of it, her massive body towering over the homes and buildings that had been built. Most of them weren’t even as tall as her foot was.
Still, she knew that they’d make a lovely crunch when she stepped on them. She lifted her foot then crashed it down on some of the houses close by. They were flattened, disintegrated in an instant. All around her foot she could see tiny specks moving about, all going away from her sole. She wondered what they were for a moment, but soon realized that she didn’t really care. Anything that small could only be another toy.
She took another step forward, this time aiming to stomp on as many of those little specs as possible. They didn’t make as nice of a crunch when they were flattened, but there was something about the wet pop that she liked.
Then she glanced forward and saw an orb flying towards her belly. “Happiny?” she said, curiously, as the red and white ball came closer and closer. It was so small, barely even the size of those little specs, but there was something off about it.
When the orb finally made contact with her big, squishy belly, she saw it glow white before detonating. With the full force of one of the strongest attacks in the pokemon world, the voltorb detonated.
The people on the ground held their ears from the raw force of the explosion. Some of them were knocked off their feet, others had to look away from the light. It was an attack strong enough to easily knock out any pokemon in existence.
Any pokemon except Happinessny. Instead, she just giggled at the light tickle, then brushed away the area of soot. She didn’t give it any further thought.
What she did think about was what to do next with this funny little place. She loved the little specs that ran around, and all the funny things that they did. The houses were fun to stomp, and she felt so full of joy. So what should she try out next?
An idea popped into her head. A fun activity that she did whenever she found a big hill during the summer. She could roll around. Happinessny smiled as she allowed herself to fall onto her side, her impact crushed a massive amount of buildings without any effort. Her naturally rounded shape allowed her to move over the ground easily, and she found herself grinning even more as she felt the houses pop under her belly, then her back, then her belly again as she rolled over the entire town.
Below her, one young trainer could do nothing but look up at the huge happiny, a look of defeat on his face. His voltorb had been defeated without even a thought, and now the pokemon was rolling towards him. He stared up at the ever growing wall of pink flesh as it came forward, as it loomed over him, as it flattened him into the ground with all the other pathetic insects.
Happinessny continued to roll over the town until she felt a crunch far stronger than the others. “Happiny?” she said as she rolled back over the object, feeling it break even further under her back. She then pushed herself onto her feet and looked down at the once grand power station.
She didn’t see what was so different about the powerplant from the other buildings around it. All she noticed was a bright shiny thing in the center, kind of like her rock. She didn’t know what it was, all she knew is that she liked it.
The giant pokemon reached down and grabbed the hunk of metal, then ripped it out of the ground. It looked funny, with a smooth bottom and a jagged top, cut in a cylinder. It kind of reminded her of a crown. All that was missing was a stone in the center.
But she had a stone! Happinessny took the rock out from her belly pocket, then pressed it into the metal of the crown. To her pleasure, it fit in with only a little bit of force. Her crown was finished, and it looked beautiful.
“Happiny!” she called out as she placed the crown upon her head.
Instantly it began to glow with the same power as before. It glowed and radiated life and energy, filling Happinessny with even more joy than before. She knew the crown would look nice, but this was a surprise!
Then the energy flowed into her body. She felt it moving through her, changing her. It spread through her limbs and belly, morphed into her cells, made her shine like the stone itself.
Happinessny evolved, skipping the form of chansey entirely and transforming into her full form, a blissey. Light erupted out from her as her new form took shape. She spun around in a slight circle, showing the world all of her. Ribbons that sparkled in the sunlight trailed behind her, and her crown glowed with the power of joy and happiness.
“Blissey!” she called out to the world, letting it know she was coming to play with it.
“Rotom!” The pokemon called out as it stood at attention. The city was under attack, and it was his job to make sure the day ended without the world being completely flattened. So far the blissey had made her way through three small towns, and none of them could offer her any resistance. Her huge body just absorbed all the damage that was sent out at her, then bounced it back as if it was nothing, less than even a tickle. The military had been called, and they had already been attacking with conventional weapons. Missiles, cannons, tanks, they all seemed completely useless against the walking monstrosity.
Even a single footstep by this pokemon was enough to reduce their finest infantry to nothing more than grains of dirt. She had moved through their defensive lines like they hadn’t been there at all, and her ribbons smacked into planes and hit them out of the sky. She looked completely unstoppable, a creature that was so far above the rest of the world.
But that was only the conventional weapons. The rotom was a specially trained pokemon, one that had learned discipline and skill from years of intense training. Though his mind was a static ball of electricity, he still knew the weight of everything that was happening, and how important a job he still had to do.
His home city was also the location of a secret base, one where new and powerful weapons were built. Some of these were so strong that they needed to be hidden away, just so that no evil organizations could ever think to use them. But now, they had a real purpose. One of these weapons was the hyper static cannon, and it was the rotom’s job to aim, power, and ultimately fire it.
“Alright, you know your jobs!” the team leader called out to the group of pokemon and army personnel alike. “Look alive, and don’t let that damn pink puffball destroy my city.”
“Blissey,” the giant chanted happily as she skipped over the landscape, her feet crashing on homes and buildings, smashing streets and train tracks with every monumental stomp. She didn’t even bother looking down at what she crushed anymore. No matter where her feet seemed to land there was always a nice crunch. She might not have been able to see those funny little creatures running away from her anymore, but she knew that they were still down there. They’d be inside of the buildings, or running through the street. Some might try to hide in a small cave, or down a ravine. She knew it wouldn’t matter, her footsteps were strong enough to crush all of that. And that’s just the way she liked things.
“Blissey, blissey, blissey,” she continued, speaking the words as if they were a song. She continued to move about like the happy pokemon she was, skipping forward as if this was an ordinary day, and she was only moving through a field of grass. Her expression said nothing of the countless lives that were ruined with each step, the damage that was done by her ribbons trailing behind her, or the efforts of all the people far below that tried everything to stop her rampage.
It was only when she spotted the city that she momentarily paused. Her feet came down and stayed there, sinking into the earth until even the bedrock far below her was compressed to a point where it could no longer give. Her eyes moved over the ground until they came to the shining area of the city, its tall buildings glistening in the light, taunting her to come over, begging her to play with them. She had never said no to a fun toy before.
She smiled as she turned towards the city, then skipped towards it.
The crunches under her foot falls became more noticeable the closer she came to the metropolis. When she glanced down she saw why. The suburban area around the city was built up with many homes and buildings. Some of them were decently large, standing almost two or three stories tall. She liked the crunch of those ones a lot as they crumbled under her stomps.
But there was something else she noticed as she came closer to the city. Along her belly and legs were little explosions. Tiny fireballs that reminded her of the fire pokemon she used to see in the forest. Little charmanders fresh out of the egg that tried to use ember, but just weren’t strong enough yet. They kind of tickled.
They were fun, but not fun enough to hold her attention for more than a few seconds. What was far more interesting was the buildings. She took three more stomps, then came right in front of one of those tall structures. It rose all the way up to her shoulders, almost as tall as she was! The face of it was reflective and shiny, though when she looked closer she could see things inside. Spaces where those tiny creatures probably moved around in. They seemed to like these buildings.
But, unfortunately for them, Happinessny liked to break them. The pokemon smiled as wide as she could as she thrust her belly into the building. The metal groaned under the pressure as the frame buckled. Glass shattered as the frames were twisted, and concrete snapped. There was a terrible sound as the entire structure came down with barely any resistance, its form reduced to rubble in her wake in only a second.
“Blissey!” she shouted happily as she moved onto the next building.
The ceiling above the hyper static cannon opened up. The sun shone into the room as the rotom jumped into the circuitry, his electrical body moving through all the different parts and taking control. The engines fired up and began to charge, the capacitors built up energy and hummed to life. The entire length of the gun began to glow with a cool blue energy, one that was both ferocious and powerful beyond measure.
“Rotom,” the pokemon said, determined, as it took aim at the Blissey. His target was wide, there was no way he’d miss. And this cannon was the strongest weapon ever created by humanity. No pokemon in the world, no matter how huge, could possibly withstand even a single blast. This was a world ender, the type of thing that would be immediately condemned by all nations the moment its existence came to light.
But it only needed to be used this one time.
“All systems ready!” a person shouted.
“Everything is charged,” shouted another.
“Gun is aimed, the airway is clear. Fire when ready.”
“Rotom!” the pokemon shouted as it commanded the gun to fire.
The ray of electricity that shot out of the gun shook the world. It sparked and jolted as it flew across the air, through the different buildings, then finally into its massive target. The attack found its mark and hit right into the giant Blissey's belly.
The sky seemed to go dark for a moment as a crack of thunder, louder than any other, shook the air. Every person in the city looked up at the creature, hopeful, knowing that any blast that powerful should have easily taken her off of her feet, or destroyed her completely.
When the electricity faded and they could see once again, the Blissy was still there, smiling.
“Blissey!” she called out happily as she rubbed her tummy, then looked down at the cannon.
Happinessny wasn’t sure what had just hit her, but it had a funny feeling to it. Almost like when a pichu nuzzled her. It wasn’t a bad feeling, but strange all the same. She rubbed her tummy, then felt something new. “Blissey?” she said.
Her belly then started to gurgle.
She knew exactly what that was. She hadn’t eaten all day! No wonder that had felt so strange, she was hungry! Well, there were a lot of ways to solve that problem. Only question was, what should she eat?
She looked around the city, then she found the small glowing gun below her. She wasn’t sure what it was, but something about the way it glowed and sparkled made it look tasty. Might as well give it a try.
The giant walked closer to the cannon, her feet crushing streets below her as she moved through the skyscrapers. Her ribbons trailed behind her and crashed into their sides, causing even more damage before she eventually reached the weapon.
Then, she reached down for it. Her hands dug into the earth and she pulled up the entire block that it rested on, taking a few small buildings with it. After all, the cannon looked tasty but it wasn’t going to be nearly enough to fill her up.
She brought the small city street closer to her mouth, then opened her gaping jaw wide, allowing all the tiny inhabitants to see their future. A huge mouth ready to swallow them whole. Some of them screamed, some prayed, others tried to jump off. Most just accepted their fate of being a snack to the greatest pokemon that had ever existed.
Even the rotom, as proud as he was, could do nothing as he was brought into the giant mouth.
The Blissy gulped down the city block without even a thought. “Mmm~” she hummed in delight, feeling her tummy settle down as it was filled. That had tasted even better than she had hoped. It was one of the best feelings of her life.
She stopped as she felt something else. A gugrlge in her stomach, one that was coming back up. The Blissy braced herself, then let loose the gas that had quickly built up inside of her.
Happinessny belched, her burp one of the loudest things to ever have happened on the planet. The buildings close by shook from the pressure of it, and glass for miles around shattered and flew into the air. Some of the older buildings crumbled under the pressure of it, and people were left screaming as their ears started to bleed. People even miles away found their ears ringing.
The blissy bashfully smiled as she finished. She chuckled to herself as she looked around at the destruction that her simple burp had caused. There were buildings still shaking, glass was everywhere, and behind her was a trail of destruction that would rival the worst disasters in history. These things were all toys to her, little play things that she could build up and destroy without a single thought.
It all made her feel so big, powerful, and above all, happy. She smiled at the destruction, smiled at the thought of those tiny specs running around near her feet, smiled at the world she now lived in. it was all so much, so completely transcending, that he crown began to glow again.
“Blissey?” she said as she noticed the glow. It continued to increase in power, the stone that made up the center of it burning with a white hot intensity. It shone like the sun until her body also began to emit light.
It was happening again. She was going to evolve once more, and this time she’d be even bigger, ever more of a god than ever before. Finally, she would be above every living creature that had ever existed, and that idea was so wonderful to think about.
Her body began to change. It grew and grew, taller than the buildings, higher than the clouds. She continued even as the city shrunk in size to no bigger than her feet, then no bigger than the dots that she had stomped on before. Then she felt herself floating, her size large enough or rival even her planet.
When her body finished her transformation light erupted out from her as if she was a star. She had taken on a new form, a mega evolution with long ribbons that trailed from her body and areas of fluff that added to her round, soft nature. A purple heart shape formed on her chest, and golden spots of fur plumed out from her arms. She was immaculate, radiant, one of the most wonderful pokemon forms to ever come into existence. The people of the tiny planet that drifted in front of her could only stare up at the god that had appeared in their world. There was no other word for a pokemon so massive and wonderful as she was.
Happinessny looked down at the small green and blue orb in front of her. It looked so small and delicate as it drifted through the black void of space. So tiny and vulnerable, so fragile compared to the transcendent creature that she was.
She gave a pitiful smile down to the globe, then gently reached out for it. She took it between her hands, then moved the small orb into her protective pouch where she always kept her most precious stone. After all, that’s all the earth was to her now. A rock, though it was at least a rock she had a familiar fondness towards.
She didn’t mind keeping it protected and close to her. After all, she knew that she needed to keep her toys safe.
