In an old apartment commons in the city of Feneos, a young fighter takes his position in an improvised ring. At just under six feet tall only 155 pounds, Sam was never destined to be champion. His overall record is winning, if only modestly, but try as he might there are some men he cannot tangle with. Still, he has his fans. Maybe some like to see him lose, or just to watch him try. Some can appreciate the elegance of his technique despite his often lacking the strength or stamina to keep it up.
Most, though, appreciate the air of mystery around him. He doesn't speak often, and has an almost comically flat affect when he does. Even his name, Sam, seems like one he made up to be as short and blunt as possible. Then there's the bandages, the heavy layers of wrapping around his chest and shoulder. They reek of strange herbs, and are frequently a reddish brown. Most correctly assume they cover deep burns, but a persistent rumor claims they also conceal another secret.
