Prelude Pillow Print

This illustration is actually a panel from one of our Prelude comics, http://www.dreamkeeperscomic.com/Pr.....ude.php?pg=147 but spruced up a bit to make it print-worthy. When we were first laying out the comic, we decided that this image would make a nice print, and had it scanned & colored in high resolution to accommodate. After all, we don’t have terribly many art prints to begin with, and even less that feature the characters at their Prelude ages.
I really like how the final render on this looks with the new lighting and effects - I think the extra layers of shading really helped freeze the moment, and turn it into a classic post-pillow-fighting childhood nostalgia trigger. ….It was also a temptation to nix the background entirely on this image, and have orphans mysteriously floating through a void of color, as though they had just been calmly blown up with a landmine. I don’t know what it says about me that some part of my mind thinks that’s a great idea.

i rather like the background there, however, having them float on a void of color would make an AMAZING LP cover
it's like a war aftermath... but happier!
Mace does look wierd right there! D:
Poor Narp.

Oh my, that pillow fight. That was quite the turn of events.
Just another reason I enjoy going over your works.
Bringing back memories of summer camp. Wailing on bunk mates.
And i am absolutely in love with the expressions you do so well!
That pillowfight came pretty dern close to heartwarming near the end.

But then Grunn...
