While I am not entirely sure if there is any common practice on the idea for urSkek society, here in this particular story, the baby was not supposed to be born (YuHu wasn't married at this point so its a huge shame to the family). But instead of killing the baby, they (being YuHu's parents) more so opted to take him away from his mother and place him into a foster home where YuHu wouldn't be able to know or find him after
