I think Evie was left at the orphanage because her birth parents were freaked out at having given birth to a living orange sweater. O.O Good thing no one really checked hard at the orphanage before she grew all her 'people bits' from the outside in. :D <3 Even she is ignorant of her great Sweater Princess destiny but soon she will be summoned back to rule over her warm and cuddly people forever. ^^ <3
YAY! ^^ I was a little worried that would be read the wrong way.
Can't help but picture it a little bit like a mixture of Ponyo, Pan's Labyrinth, and Howl's Moving Castle. @.@
Little baby Evie bouncing about as what everyone thinks is just a little girl inside a huge sweater, never noticing how she never made the sound of footsteps no matter how fast she moved. Sweater-Evie figuring out how to weave a body for herself from dust bunnies, dryer lint, and their meager meals. Course once she made herself a head and thus a brain she forgot all that, became just like the rest of the other kids, could even take her former body off though of course it never felt comfortable to do so.
Then there is this whole comedic side story involving the two that would have been her protectors Turtleneck and Cardigan. Sadly they had to retreat since no matter what object they disguised themselves as it would always end up being fought over by the others at the orphanage, or look to nice for someone to not assume she had stolen it, or just get trampled. @.@
They were ready to call in the 'Big Guns' seeing how terrible things were going for their poor Princess Evie. ;.; But then.....Stella came into the picture. O.O <3 And they knew, she was in good hands at last. ^^
