Today's article is one that was planned from the moment I posted "How to Start Writing" back in January. One I've been both looking forward to and intimidated by.
One common piece of advice you hear all the time is the importance of writing every day. The remarkable simplicity of this idea is only matched by how difficult it is to put into practice. The urge procrastinate is so powerful you can find a litany of jokes writers share about how easily it defeats them. The most important book I've ever read about writing is "The War of Art" by Steven Pressfield and is entirely focused on this problem.
This isn't a dragon anyone can slay for you. Procrastination is a constant force, like gravity, always trying to pull you away from doing the work. You will not find the solution here, but maybe I can point you to the tools you can use to keep it at bay.
If you're interested in improving your writing, I'm also trying to start a informal writing workshop of sorts. Interested? Then check out the Discord.
