Arkady Lau (劉祈昌) is a flying fox deer hybrid OC for The Divide Between Us, a sci-fi RP server on Discord. I drew him in MS Paint with a mouse, except for the glasses panes which i colored in GIMP (the background was also done with GIMP overlaying).

Arkady grew up as an only child in a single parent household. When he was 5, his mother got divorced from his father. His mother was an English professor, so he grew up with a love of books--something he was bullied for in middle school. The bullying made him insecure and withdrawn. He spent most of his teenage years striving for "normal" and hating himself for failing. Then he started going to therapy in senior year of high school, where he discovered he had depression and gender dysphoria. He began to work on accepting himself, and learning how to live without letting other people's expectations define him. He came out as a transgender man in college, and graduated with an associate's degree in library science. Now he works as a library technician at Kia Library, with hopes of becoming librarian there someday.
