One thought that occurs to me is that one head (and possibly the corresponding arm) could have animatronics that can be operated semi-remotely by someone in VR gear. I'm pretty sure the available technology has progressed to a point where it should be possible (at least with some expert help) to pull that off. It would be tricky and expensive as heck but I'd love to see someone attempt it!
I also love the idea of a two-person suit. It would require - and I mean require! - some serious hardcore cooling. It would also be tricky and expensive, just in different ways... But what a fun way to bring people together, right?
